NGC 2024 Flame Nebulae

Orion

The Horsehead Nebula is actually an intervening cloud of dust in the shape of a horse's head (B33) silhouetted against the large waterfall shaped deep red emission nebula IC434. The Flame Nebula (left) is also known as NGC 2024 and is another region of glowing hydrogen gas in the shape of a flame or burning bush.
